The secure keysafe with code for the post box is becoming one of the most popular ways of installing a secure keysafe with code. The post box keysafe with code has a number of advantages over traditional installation methods and is generally very quick and easy to install. The post box keysafe with code has three different installation methods, each with their own positive and negative attributes :

1. Installing your post box keysafe using glue
We recommend Pattex adhesive as it forms a very strong bond, it can withstand a wide temperature range and it is easy to use. Install the key box using the glue supplied as follows :

2. Installing your post box keysafe with Velcro
Ensure that the area within the post box where you wish to install your secure keysafe with codeis clean and dry. The post box keysafe with Velcro come compelte with a strip of heavy duty, stick on Velcro. Simply attach the Velcro to the rear of the key box, then attach this to the back of your post box. Once the key safe has been attached, the velcro gives a solid, semi-permanent fixing. The Velcro has double sided adhesive tape that safely holds up to 7kg per 5cm x 10cm strip, so will require a fairly significant force to remove it. |

3. Installing your Magnetic key box for the post box
The Magnetic key box for the post box is simple to attach. In the case of metal letter boxes which are the most common in Switzerland, simply attach the key box to any surface of the post box using the strong magnets. If the letter box is not metal, then a metal fixing plate is supplied with the magnetic key box for the post box which can be attached to your chosen location within the post box using the double sided tape supplied. |

The super strong, heavy duty, double sided Velcro tape provides an extra strong, no nails adhesive with holding power designed for heavy-duty application. This double sided adhesive tape safely holds up to 7kg per 50mm x 100mm. The installation can be made in literally seconds, and the Key Safe for the post box is ready to go. If eventually the Key Safe is no longer required, for example if you move, the Key Safe can be remove.

Designed as a wall mounted keysafe, and often used for this purpose, the MLK5401 is also often used in Switzerland for attaching within the letter box. Frequently used by care companies, the key safe has a four wheel combination which can be changed as required by the owner. The size and weight of this key safe make it suitable for installation in most post boxes. Developed in the 1960 in the US by GE (General Electric), the Keysafe with code has aged well over the years. The original concept was to enable estate agents to be able to store house keys at a property during the period when the property was for sale. The solution proved to be very simple. A strong metal box with a lid locked by a numeric code was the solution. The safe was to have fixing holes in the back of the metal box. These holes allows the metal casing to be fixed to a wall but the fixings would only be accessible when the door of the safe was opened. The fixings were therefore secure. The mechanism for opening the door was also very important. In modern times more and more solutions are relying on electronic or computerised solutions. The Keysafe with code however, was developed using a purely mechanical solution. This decision proved very important for two main reasons. Firstly with no power or battery considerations, the Keysafe with code can be installed without needing to worry about any power source making installation much easier and much more flexible. Also without power or batteries, there is a lot less that can go wrong ! Imagine installing a Keysafe with code, then just when you need to use it you discover that the batteries are dead ! That would be frustrating to say the least .... Once the initial model was developed it proved very popular, not only for estate agents for whom it was originally developed, but also for home owners in general. Having a spare key always on site yet safe in a secure box solved many day to day problems. For families with children this overcame the problem with teenagers forgetting keys, for anyone with builders working on a property the key could be accessed when needed but not removed and passed from person to person ... there were many small everyday problems where the Keysafe can make a big contribution to overcoming these logistical problems. Over time the range of safes on offer has expanded so that there are now distinct groups of Keysafes on the market. The original concept, the wall keysafe with code provide access to all who have the code. Keeping a key in the safe allows access without needing multiple copies of your keys or having to distribute them. Keep control by simply changing the access code when you want to restrict who has access to your keys. This range includes wheel and push button options, small safes (such as the Supra S6 which has an internal compartment large enough to hold two keys) and large format safes (such as the Masterlock MLK5403 XL) which can hold many keys, access cards or others. The wall keysafe with code can be attached to any flat surface. The are normally attached using screws or other traditional fixings, although modern glues (especially the two part expoxy glues) are also becoming a popular way to fix the keysafe especially to the inside of post boxes. Often used when temporary access is required, these can be attached to a bar, railing or if used in conjunction with a chain ... practically anywhere. These models are essentially large padlocks with a key compartment. The padlock bar can only be opened when the safe is opened, thus ensuring that the fixings are solid. These are particularly popular for installations where attaching to a wall is not possible, but a solid fixing is still essential. A recent innovation is the car keysafe with code. With its special fixing kit, these models are essentially robust wall mounted safes which have a metal fixing which can be secured over a car window. Installing the fixing is easily accomplished once the safe is open. When the fixing is in place, simply lower the car window, hook the fixing over the window and then close the window. The safe is now securely held on the outside of the window ready to use. As with all other key safes, the code can be changed as and when required. Whilst not exclusively developed for the business market as they are equally able to be used in the residential market, a range of "heavy duty" safes have been developed for the commerical environment. The safes in this category are the Supra/GE 500 Pro, and the Supra/GE S7 Bigbox. These safes are probably the strongest and most secure on the market. Both are very heavey, have sull weather covers and push button combination allowing for thousands of possible combinations to be set. The Supra/GE 500 Pro has also been developed with ease of use in mind and is the only push button keysafe with code with a hinged door made by market leaders Supra / GE. This strong and weather-resistant model contains triple-wall construction, stainless steel reinforcements, and an extra-long latching bolt making it very secure. The steel liner is made from stainless steel which is rustproof. Both safes also give the user large storage compartments. Kidde's Stor-A-Key and AccessPoint line of Keysafes are recent additions to the market. Developed for installations where it is not possible to use a wall mounted version, the stor-a-key uses strong magnets to mount the safe to any surface (a metal mounting plate is also included). This safe is designed to be hidden out of side and providesquick and convenient access to your keys, where you need them. |
